Lake of the Ozarks

A few weeks ago we had a wedding to go to in missouri and stayed in a cabin on the Lake of the Ozarks. We enjoyed it so much we decided to go back! Ryan's friend, Mike, was in Kansas City for work and had the weekend off and Ryan's friend Ian also came down! Stevie joined us too, so we had a full house!

Our house was beautiful with huge windows all along the back and a two story balcony. For Saturday we rented a pontoon to take fishing!  The weather was really not very nice in the morning, think cold, windy and lots of rain!
We headed back to the house around lunch to drop off me and Cole for nap time and by the time we got back on the boat the weather was awesome!  Cole has his own pole and spent a lot of time fishing. Here he is with Stevie catching a 'big whale', he also spent a lot of time casting, stirring the lake, and bouncing the water.
And then here is enjoying the sun deck with Pop!

Trip to MT: Part 1

Several weeks ago we headed up to Montana for the Annual Fishin. For The Cure tournament. We booked a 'cabin' months ago at Rock Creek Marina on Fort Peck Lake so this trip had been planned for quite a while. I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend in a 'cabin' on the lake. Cabin is in quotes bc apparently my definition of a cabin differs from Ryan's. These were not cabins, it was a 15' x 15' room with two beds, a table, a fridge and a microwave. Notice: no toilet, no shower. There was a public bathroom area with toilets and showers, but this is not what I had been envisioning when we planned our vacation.
Since the tourney was founded by a high school classmate of Ryan's (who passed away about 2 years ago) Ryan knew a good number of people staying in the 'cabins' and the entire marina area. We stayed in a 'cabin' right next to our friends Chelsea, Mike and their new baby Penelope. They have a boat and we partnered with them for the tourney. Cole got to experience his first boat ride and fishing expedition. He had fun!
Here's some pictures we snapped on the drive back to Billings.  It really is a very beautiful part of the world.
