Cole's Creations

Cole's new favorite toy is definitely the legos, he even says 'block time' when he wants to get them out!  I can't say that I blame him, they may be my favorite too :).  Here's a couple of his lego creations!

And then I threw in something that Ryan just found yesterday.  It was too cute not to share!  There are small cars that go with the truck but I guess he decided these cars needed to be hauled.

This next one is definitely my favorite, Cole calls it 'doggie with hat', haha.  He even insisted on bringing it to my parents' house

And now I've also thrown in one of my 'creations'.  We'd been looking for a side table for Cole's room so every couple of days I was checking out craigslist and then I stumbled upon this set of furniture that included a side table, a dresser and a dresser with a hutch for less than I had budgeted for just the side table, I couldn't pass this up.  I didn't take a before picture of the bed side table, but here is a before picture of one of the dresser, so you get the idea.

Here is the after of the side table!  I love it!  Cole helped me paint it too!

Tech/Baylor

This last weekend we went to the DFW area for the Tech/Baylor game and had a blast!  Cole loved it and enjoyed listening to the bands!  Stevie came with us and we met up with some friends too!  Here's some pics!

Cole loves babies

A few weeks ago we had some friends from Montana come for a visit, unfortunately we were horrible about taking pictures :(  They have a beautiful baby girl named Penelope!  But we did get a couple good ones!

We've stayed with them several times in Montana so it was nice to have them stay with us!

Haircut

Last week Cole got his first haircut! He went from a baby to a little boy!  Here's a before picture, love those curls!

Here's some during pictures.  Personal note, never bring a sucker to a haircut, it got covered in hairand the stickiness got all over Cole and then hair started sticking to him.  We started out happy but things went downhill quickly.

But look how cute he is!

Halloween!

This halloween we did some pumpkin carving. Last year we did not carve pumpkins so this was a new experience for Cole!  Cole was less than interested as indicated in this picture with tape:

I think Ryan put it best when he said that he remembered pumpkin carving being much easier as a child, but then again maybe that was because someone else did the actual carving. Here are our final projects, sorry they turned out very dark.

And then here is our family halloween pic, batman was uninterested in his cape, being next to the flash and superman, and being in a picture!  I would describe this pic as less than ideal. Oh well, maybe  next year!

Cowboys Stadium

A couple weekends ago Ryan and I headed down to Dallas for the Broncos-Cowboys game. The stadium is amazing! We had great seats and it was a fun game to see live!  Special thanks to Stevie for watching Cole for us and to my cousin Missy for letting us stay with her!

We tried to get a pic of us with the field as the background but the lighting wouldn't turn out right, so here's us with our seats as the background.

And here was the view from our seats!

Some Love for the Dogs

It's been a while since I had a post about the dogs so here we go. Whenever we leave the house or town this is what Baloo does.

And this is what Bella does.

Busy Weekend

We bought our house about two and a half years ago. We got it with the intent of fixing it up and moving in. Years later we're still working on it. I'm currently in the middle of painting the cabinets (I'm very picky and won't let Ryan help with painting).  Stevie has been a huge motivator and a big help. We are abt halfway through with painting the cabinets. All the uppers are painted but we're still working on hanging all the doors. The drill battery died yesterday and the backup battery was also dead so that halted us quite a bit.

Friday and Saturday was appliance delivery day!!  Here's a pic of Cole helping us clean out the old fridge. It moved to the garage and has been designated the beverage fridge which has done wonders for space in the kitchen fridge!  More pics to come!

Pitch Perfect

Cole's FAVORITE movie is Pitch Perfect!  He loves all the music and dances and sings along. We had recorded it on our dvr, but it messed up and kept skipping parts. We finally just bought it and now we are averaging watching it about once a day.

Baseball Game

We got tickets to the local baseball game on Labor Day. I'm a big fan of any Stadium food and it's good to see Cole is inheriting that gene. Here he is enjoying a very stale pretzel.

And here he is being a cool dude with Dad.

Aren't they a vision in plaid!

Trip to MT: Part 2

Unfortunately we were only up North for a few days so we didn't get to do everything we would've liked to. We were able to stop for a little bit in miles city to get in some quality time with some babies. Here's Cole and Bentley. They are very close in age and it was very neat to see them play together.

We also got to meet the twins Jaidynn & Madison. Such cuties. And Jaycee if you're reading this I apologize I cannot remember who is who!

Trip to MT: Part 1

Several weeks ago we headed up to Montana for the Annual Fishin. For The Cure tournament. We booked a 'cabin' months ago at Rock Creek Marina on Fort Peck Lake so this trip had been planned for quite a while. I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend in a 'cabin' on the lake. Cabin is in quotes bc apparently my definition of a cabin differs from Ryan's. These were not cabins, it was a 15' x 15' room with two beds, a table, a fridge and a microwave. Notice: no toilet, no shower. There was a public bathroom area with toilets and showers, but this is not what I had been envisioning when we planned our vacation.
Since the tourney was founded by a high school classmate of Ryan's (who passed away about 2 years ago) Ryan knew a good number of people staying in the 'cabins' and the entire marina area. We stayed in a 'cabin' right next to our friends Chelsea, Mike and their new baby Penelope. They have a boat and we partnered with them for the tourney. Cole got to experience his first boat ride and fishing expedition. He had fun!
Here's some pictures we snapped on the drive back to Billings.  It really is a very beautiful part of the world.

Throwback Wednesday... (that works, right)

Months and months ago we went to eat some bbq and let cole try some corn on the cob. He loved it!  Still does!  Ryan took pictures on his phone, then got a new one. He just never transferred over the newest pics, but yesterday he finally did!  Check out this cutie, he ate the whole thing!

A new twist on the week

So, after Ryan's back issues we had to deal with a flat tire.  Here's our yukon getting towed.
While the guy was getting the car all ready a stranger came up and asked the AAA guy what he was doing. Without missing a beat he replied "what's it look like I'm stealing this car"  it made my day!

Here's cole being sweet and offering me some of his breakfast.
What a ham
